Laser Hair Removal

Summer is right around the corner, and with that comes warm weather clothing like shorts and dresses that bare more skin than you’re used to in the winter months. The last thing you want to worry about is shaving and waxing when you should be planning your next beach trip. Luckily, there’s a way to eliminate the need for shaving, waxing, and other repeated hair removal methods. Laser hair removal is an effective way of destroying hair in the follicle to minimize and even eliminate regrowth.

Laser hair removal works by attacking the melanin found in the actively growing hair. The laser uses light that is attracted to the melanin to vaporize it. This process acts on hair that is in the active growth phase. This is why multiple treatments are recommended to ensure all follicles are treated throughout the course of the process. If you don’t want to completely remove all hair, laser hair removal in fewer treatments can lessen the amount of hair in the treatment area.

During the treatment, a slight stinging or pinching sensation may be felt, however the feeling is mild. If your pain tolerance is low, local anesthetics can be applied to the treatment area to increase your tolerance to the procedure.

So if pesky body hair is something that bothers you, start your treatments early so by the time summer hits you won’t need to worry about the hassle of hair removal!
